ABOUT MR PAPARAZZI

In 1987 a young Darryn Lyons left Geelong with $500 in his pocket. Destination, London. He dared to conquer the British world of tabloids and photography, landing himself a role as freelance photographer at the world renowned, Daily Mail Newspaper. 

Darryn began his career covering the war as a photo journalist that between 1991 and 1992 completed two tours of Sarajevo. It didn't end there; he was kidnapped in Bosnia, covered revolutions in Romania and Czechoslovakia and also covered the momentous fall of the Berlin Wall. This achievement landed him the coveted Press Photographer and Best News Photographer awards.

Wisely in 1992 Darryn escaped the world of kidnappings and civil war to set up his first of many businesses, ‘Big Pictures’ from a bedroom in his North London flat. For the next two years he continued running his own business whilst working for the Daily Mail.

With rapid growth comes rapid expansion and in 1995 Darryn opened offices in New York, 3 years later in Sydney and in 2005 the heart and soul of the paparazzi diet, Los Angeles.

In keeping with the trend of expansion, he has also created the world's number one online celebrity destination, called (would you believe) Mr. Paparazzi.com.This site won Yahoo's best online entertainment website for 2007/2008, with over one million hits per day!!

Darryn has no intention of slowing down. Darryn believes there are opportunities everywhere, however, home is and always will be where the heart is. The man with the crazy, colourful hair is not stopping anytime soon. No matter how much he travels, who he meets, whom his friends are, where he lives and where his businesses are, he still carries the greatest amount of pride for where his vision started, Australia. In 2010, Darryn was honoured to be appointed the second International Ambassador for Geelong.

More recently, Darryn has found a penchant for television appearances. He graced the UK Celebrity Big Brother house with his presence, eventually finishing in 6th place.

His latest television appearance has been fuelled by his passion to shed the excess emotional and physical baggage in his life. ‘Excess Baggage’ will debut in February, the same time Darryn plans to launch his latest venture, Mr Paparazzi Celebrity Deals. But you know this last fact!
